Glaucoma is the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide. Bardhaman Eye Care Nursing Home offers comprehensive glaucoma diagnosis and treatment.
In glaucoma, there is increase in pressure inside the eye causing irreversible damage to optic nerve. Damage due to glaucoma is preventable not curable. It is therefore necessary that the disease should be detected and treated at its earliest stage to prevent blindness.

 

Early Symptoms:

• Frequent Change of Reading Glasses.
• Mild Headache or Eye-Ache.
• Seeing Rainbow Colored Halos.
• In Advanced Cases, There is Loss of Side Vision.

It is therefore advisable to undergo a routine examination around the age of 40 years to screen for glaucoma.

 

Glaucoma Detection in Bardhaman Eye Care Nursing Home:

• Vision Testing.
• Measurement of IOP (Applanation or NCT).
• Evaluation of Optic Nerve Damage.
• Gonioscopy.
• Visual Field Examination.

 

Eye Check Up:

• After Age of 40 Years, All Patients.

• Diabetes.
• Long Term Systemic Steroid Therapy.
• Blunt Injury.

 

Treatment:

• Medical Therapy: Drops and Tablets with Regular Follow Up.
• Laser: YAG Laser Peripheral Iridotomy.
• Operative Procedures: Trabeculectomy.
